Contested vs. Non-Contested
Contested
- Parties agree on all issues.
- Both parties will willingly sign an Agreed Divorce Decree.
- Neither party will need to be served by a process server/sheriff.
Contested
- The parties are not in agreement on one or more of the issues.
- One or both parties are unwilling to sign an Agreed Decree of Divorce.
- One of the parties will need to be served by a process server.
The Divorce Process

- Draft a Petition for Divorce.
- File your divorce petition with the appropriate County.
